A. General information
· Contraindicated in patients on MAOI inhibitors.
B. B. Metabolism and phamacokinetics
· Hepatically metabolized.
· Elimination: 85% renal, 15% fecal.
· Need to adjust for both GFR and hepatic impairment
C. Side Effects.
· CNS: Somnolence, Dizziness
· Hematologic: agranulocytosis, incidence 1.1/1000 patients
· Endocrinologic: Wt. gain, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesteremia.
· Gastrointestinal: Transient elevation of LFT’s;
Nausea, dry mouth.
· CV: palpitations, hypotension.
